For the first time, Muzaffarpur- based Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU) will hold entrance examination from the upcoming academic session (2019-20) for admission to undergraduate courses.
Till date, admissions were taken on the basis of marks obtained by the students. The applicants will now have to fill up online forms for taking admission in various constituent and affiliated colleges under BRABU and then appear for the admission test. A
decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of BRABU admission committee held on Monday. The meet, chaired by BRABU VC Rajesh Kumar, okayed more than six proposals.
The VC said that various issues, including number of seats for postgraduate courses along with admission in PG and UG courses, were discussed in the meeting.
“The number of seats in PG courses has not been changed. Out of 5,272, 1880 seats have been allotted to PG departments, while the remaining seats have been given to the affiliated and constituent colleges. Neither PG departments nor colleges can take admissions beyond the set limit,” the VC said.
He added that the committee has also issued guidelines for admissions to UG and PG courses for the colleges. “The admission process for UG courses will commence on Tuesday. The last date for submission of forms is July 5. However, forms can be submitted by July 10 with late fine. The entrance test will be held on July 25 and results will be published in the next two days. Classes will start from July 31,” the VC said
