Chhattisgarh Schools to be shut for early Summer Vacations from April 24 due to heat wave

Chhattisgarh Government on Wednesday announced the early closure of schools in the state. In an official released, the government has announced that the summer vacations for the schools in the state would commence from April 24, which is this Sunday. The new academic session would begin from June 15.

The decision to pre-pone the summer holidays was taken in view of the rising temperature in the state. The notice is applicable for all government as well as private schools in the state. The vacations have been set from April 24 to June 14.

The government has also noted that there are a few end semester examinations which are scheduled for April 25. Students can voluntarily attend the examination on the scheduled dates.


The schools, otherwise would remain closed for summer vacations from April 24 to June 14.The country has been reeling in an unrelenting heat wave for the past few days. The mercury soured past 40 degrees in Chhattisgarh this week.

The state recorded an average daytime temperature of over 42 degrees this week.As for COVID, Chhattisgarh continues to be largely free of COVID. The state recorded one fresh case in the past 7 days.
