Common test to fill PG seats in universities
The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will conduct a common entrance test to fill the postgraduate seats in all the state universities for the second consecutive year.
Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, on behalf of APSCHE, released the notification for the APPGECET-2022 to this effect on Wednesday. The last date for applications without any late fee is July 20. The exams will be tentatively conducted from August 17.
Until last year, the students seeking admissions into conventional science, arts and commerce postgraduate programmes had to apply separately for each university. There are 14 conventional universities in the state with a total intake of about 15,000 PG seats.
According to the APSCHE officials, the common entrance test is expected to offer a lot of convenience to the students in terms of choice of courses and universities, in addition to saving money and time. Other than these regular PG programmes, statewide common tests are being conducted for the remaining courses. For example, ICET (integrated common entrance test) is held for giving admissions into MBA and MCA courses.
