As per the notification issued by the Jamia Millia Islamia University on 21st February, the admissions are now open for various UG and PG courses for the academic year 2020-2021.The students can register themselves online at www.jmi.ac.in or www.jmi.ac.in/admissions latest by 25th March, 2020.
The university is offering undergraduate courses in the field of Engineering & Technology, Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, etc. Candidates who want to pursue Bachelor’s in Architecture, Engineering or in Dental Surgery (BDS) can apply on the basis of NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), JEE-Main (Joint Entrance Main Examination in Engineering) or NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) scores respectively. Admissions to other courses will be applicable as per the scores/rank in the JMI-Entrance Test 2020. This year the JMI-Entrance test for Undergraduate courses would take place between 26th April to 4th July 2020 and the results would be declared the latest by 30th June 2020 as per the prescribed schedule. The admit cards would get available by 15th April which the applicants can download from the online portal. Applications are open up to 25th March and the corrections to the applications could be done easily by 30th March 2020.
For post-graduation, the university is offering courses in M.Tech (Masters in Technology), MBA (Masters in Business Administration), MCA (Masters in Computer Applications), M.Sc. (Masters in sciences- Physics, Chemistry & Biology), Masters in Mathematics, Masters in Law and post-graduation Diploma in Management (PGDM) along with doctorate courses in Philosophy (Ph.D.). To get admission in postgraduate courses students would need to have 50% marks in under-graduation for non-technical subjects and at least 55% marks for technical subjects. For M.Tech the students can apply through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) for available branches and for MBA they can put forward their CAT (Common Aptitude Test) score. The dates of application and release of admit cards are the same as mentioned for under-graduate courses but the examination (JMI-Entrance for Post Graduate Courses) is scheduled between 1st June to 10th July 2020. The results would be declared in June 2020 as per the academic calendar. The mode of the JMI-Entrance Examination would be online with the MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type approach with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. For different courses, the pattern of the examination, including the number of questions, can vary but the mode will remain the same.
