Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University will be established soon in the national capital. The first meeting to build up the university took place today in which Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met the Board members. This new university will help youths to acquire the skills that are needed for employment in the future.
The objective of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University is that students who will be graduating from this varsity will be guaranteed a job. Delhi CM tweeted, “I am excited that the first meeting of “Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University” took place today. I met all Board members. The objective of the University is to ensure that the students who pass out from here get the jobs they want.”
The state cabinet in December 2019 had passed the bill to set up the University. It almost took a year to launch the university as the hurdle remained was the approval of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on acquiring land for the university as the land-owning agency, the Delhi Development Authority was under him.
With this new university, the employment issues will be resolved and this will boost the economy. All the Industrial Training Institutes, Polytechnic institutes, and skill centers will be merged into this university.
Last year CM Kejriwal said to the New Indian Express, “We will collaborate with many foreign countries and universities. There will be collaborations with industry associations and companies. If any company agrees to provide jobs to the students, then training will be provided to students based on the requirements of the company by this university.”
The course duration at Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University would be for 6 months to 2 years time period. Around 5000 initial intakes of students in DSE University would be done for regular and part-time courses.
