Common Admission Test
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national-level test conducted by the Indian Institute of Management every year. This is a computer-based(online) exam for admission into the graduate management program. The IIMs started this exam to select students for their MBA and PGDM courses. Since 2011 IITs and IISc also started using CAT scores to select students for their management programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation. The test consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability(QA). The duration of the exam is 3 hours. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are eligible for this exam.
