Govt schools to start pre-board exams before March 15
Chandigarh: The pre-board examinations will be conducted before March 15 in government schools of the city. Earlier, unit tests of board classes were held in schools to assess the performance of children.
The test format is being prepared on the basis of the sample paper issued by CBSE so that children’s readiness for board exams can be assessed.
Teachers said that tests are based on CBSE sample papers. They added that since children had spent a lot of time at home, they were being counselled to alleviate stress.
A teacher of Government Model High School said that the attendance in board classes had increased significantly. Up to 70% Class X students are coming to school, the teacher said.
Davinder, principal, GMSSS-35, said that while the number of Class X students coming to school had increased this week, still only 30% to 40% children were coming so tests for board preparation would be conducted in both offline and online medium. The pre-board exam is being planned in the first week of March.
