Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Madras, and Capgemini, an IT firm are hosting a competition together. The aim of the competition is to come up with new innovative ideas in “Engineering Technologies.” It intends to derive innovative ideas from the students of Polytechnic college in Tamil Nadu. Students interested to take part in the competition can fill their registration form here-csie.iitm.ac.in.
The last date for submitting ideas for the competition is August 21, 2021. The competition is being coordinated by Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, CSIE. CSIS is an organization involved in teaching and research in the social enterprise sector in India.
Students with the top two innovative ideas will be awarded prize money of Rs. 50,000. Further, they will also be provided mentorship by the faculty of IIT Madras and CSIE. The aim of the competition is to come up with ideas that improve the lives of artisans and farmers in the country.
While speaking about the uniqueness of the competition, Professor R Rajan, Project Coordinator, Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CSIE) and IIT Madra mentioned, “An alumni-driven initiative, CSIE@IITM focuses on promoting social and entrepreneurship through various incentives and activities. IDEA SPARK, in particular, has been very successful over the years in motivating college students to ideate and innovate in this context.”
Students from the second and third years of Polytechnic colleges will be allowed to participate. They can participate in a group of four. There is no bar to the number of groups and ideas from an institute.
