No CUCET for PG, PhD courses, to be based on Delhi University entrance test

Delhi University, DU admissions 2022 for postgraduate, PG and PhD courses will be held on the basis of Delhi University Entrance Test, DUET, said University. DU has issued this clarification amid speculations that this year’s PG admissions will take place through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test, CUCET. 

Conventionally, DU conducts admission for postgraduate courses through DUET and for Undergraduate courses through college-aise admission cut off. However, this year it was proposed to conduct DU UG Admissions 2022 through Central Universities Common Entrance Test, CUCET. The decision is not confirmed so far. For PG admissions, the past practice will remain the same. 

In an official statement, DU stated, “It is notified that admissions to postgraduate and PhD programmes for academic session 2022-23 of Delhi University shall be on the basis of Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) as per past practice. Further details related to admission shall be released soon.”


DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh has informed that the University will adopt a new way of admissions from 2022 by holding DUCET/CUCET 2022 this year. Following this,  the university had formed an eight-member National Testing Agency, NTA Coordination Committee for the CUCET. NTA has been assigned the task of conducting the CUCET for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The eight members NTA Coordination Committee is headed by DU Registrar Vikas Gupta along with Dean of Examinations DS Rawat, serving as the Convenor. Other DU exam conducting authorities are also part of the panel.


These include Professors Haneet Gandhi, Dean of Admissions; Sanjeev Gandhi, Joint Dean of Admissions; Ajay Jaiswal, also Joint Dean of Admissions; Admission Branch Official OP Sharma, who is also the member-secretary of the panel, and others.
