Incidentally, this has been the second convocation of PU within a period of six months. The last convocation was held on January 21 in which former President Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest.
Patna University (PU) girls have once again outsmarted boys by securing top positions in as many as 31 of 42 subjects in the postgraduate examinations of 2018, according to a provisional list of toppers released by the PU. All these toppers has been awarded gold medals at the university’s convocation scheduled to be held on May 30.
The toppers in the faculty of humanities include Ruchi Kumari Sharma (Hindi), Chhavi (English), Anjali Kumari (Sanskrit), Pankaj Kumar (Maithili), Mun Mun Das (Bengali), Fahim Ahmad Ansari (Arabic), Md Aasim (Persian), Hozaifa Shakil (Urdu), Ajeet Kumar (philosophy) and Sonam Raj (MJMC).
In the faculty of social sciences, the toppers are Pooja Kumari (history), Chetan Kumar (political science), Puja Kumari (home science), Priyanka Choubey (ancient Indian history), Shreya Sangam (sociology), Puja Priya and Mugdha Mohini (economics),work), Kanchan Kumari (music), Deepak Kumar (women’s studies) and Anupam Abhishek Narain (library and information science).
The toppers in the faculty of science include Ranjeet Kumar (physics), Neha Ashique (chemistry), Priya Pandey and Roseleena Minz (zoology), Chandni Srikrishna (botany), Adila Ali (geology), Akash Kumar (mathematics), Maria Samreen (statistics), Kusum
Kumari (biochemistry), Niva Singh (biotechnology), Saima Anjum (environmental science), Priyanka Jha (herbal chemistry) and Kumari Shilpi ( MCA). Other toppers include Shivani Anand (commerce), Anuj Kumar (MBA), Shreeya (law) and Pushpa Kumari
This year, the toppers of education and law would get the newly instituted R N P Barial Gold Medal.
