Punjab Chief Minister to visit Delhi government schools

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with Delhi Chief Arvind Kejriwal, will visit the government schools and Mohalla Clinics in the national capital on Monday. Punjab’s education and health ministers as well as top officials of both the states will also be present during the visit.

“Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, along with Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, will visit Delhi govt schools and mohalla clinics on April 25. Education and Health Ministers and top officials of both the states will also be present during the visit,” reported news agency ANI.

The Punjab CM was scheduled to visit Delhi government schools on April 18, but it was later postponed. No reason was given for the postponement of Mann’s visit.


Mohalla Clinic is a community clinic established by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi to provide essential healthcare to common people. Currently, the national capital has more than 300 Mohalla Clinics across the city providing hundreds of essential medicines and tests, according to its website.Earlier this month, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also visited government schools and Mohalla Clinics in Delhi. The DMK chief, who was on a three-day visit to the national capital, visited Rajkiya Kanya Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in West Vinod Nagar.

During his visit, the officials had briefed him about the new education board, Desh bhakti curriculum, happiness curriculum and the entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum, ‘Business Blasters’ introduced in the schools and overall changes in the education system under the AAP government.Visiting Delhi schools, Stalin had said his government has been creating model schools in Tamil Nadu and invited Kejriwal to visit them.

“After coming to power in Tamil Nadu, we have been giving the highest priority to the education and medical sectors. Just like how model schools are running in Delhi, we are doing in Tamil Nadu also,” he had said.“We will invite Chief Minister Kejriwal after the completion of work there. He should come, I invite him on the behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu,” Stalin had added.The Tamil Nadu CM had also interacted with doctors at Mohalla Clinics and learnt about the developments in the health care sector under the Kejriwal government.
