Telangana Schools, Colleges closed further till January 30
Telangana Schools, Colleges have been closed again as the government has decided to extend COVID-19 curbs. This time, all educational institutions have been closed till January 30, 2022, as the state government has extended Sankranthi holidays for everyone, keeping in mind the safety of students.
Telangana Schools, Colleges closing and extension of holidays was being speculated again as the COVID-19 situation in the state has not improved much. Moreover, the government orders were initially only applicable from January 8 to 16, 2022 and hence, seeing the current situation, the extension of holidays was likely.
The announcement about the extension of holidays has been made by Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. The same has been implemented after orders were issued by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Telangana Schools and Colleges would continue with the format of online classes till the mentioned date or further orders. As far as the SOPs go, it is likely that the earlier guidelines would continue to be in place, without any changes. However, an official confirmation and detailed orders are still awaited.
Many groups had been demanding a closure of all educational institutions in the state as the COVID-19 situation had become bad. With the country reporting over 1 lakh active cases over the last few days, Telangana was also among the worst affected states.
Telangana Schools, Colleges have also been closed since many students are not yet vaccinated. The government has rolled out the children’s vaccination plan for 15-18 year children, however, it will take some time for it to get completed. Meanwhile, students and stakeholders are advised to stay in touch with their educational institutions for all latest updates.
