Chief minister Pramod Sawant, on Monday, said plans are afoot to offer specialisations in two other disciplines in the Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) programme. He said infrastructure at the college will be upgraded soon to enable the college to offer the new programmes.
Goa College of Art now has seats available for MFA programmes in the painting and applied art streams. Sawant, who was speaking after inaugurating the first MFA programme at the lone art college Goa College of Art in the state, said the directorate of technical education has been asked to work on upgrading infrastructure at the college.
“Any student intending to pursue a MFA now need not go out of Goa,” said Sawant. The course recently commenced with five students each in painting, mural, design specialisations and four students in illustration. “The government will work hard to provide best infrastructure at the art College,” said Sawant.
