University of Hyderabad (UoH) and University of Bordeaux have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate exchange of faculties and students between both the varsities.
In future, UoH and University of Bordeaux will explore joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges and possible joint supervision for students that go through the exchange program.
A delegation of faculty from UoH led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Podile Appa Rao is attending a three-day international conference ‘Plants with health benefits and Biomolecules of Interest’ being organised at University of Bordeaux, France.
The conference features wide ranging discussions on topics including conventional and organic production of plants with health benefits, vegetal extraction for quantification and production, objectives for the use of metabolomics of plant based products among other related topics.
Some of the other faculty of UoH who are taking part in the conference and will deliver lectures include Prof. N. Siva Kumar, Director of International Affairs, Professors A. S. Raghavendra, T. Sarada, G. Padmaja, Anitha Jagota, M.J. Swamy and Dr. Irfan Ghazi.
Award for UoH
The UoH has won the prestigious ‘University of the Year (in existence for over 30 Years)’ award from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
After being shortlisted based on a rigorous assessment by industry leaders, academics and policy makers, UoH was asked to make a presentation before the grand jury, which was evaluated for its vision and mission, new initiatives, outcome metrics, awards and honours, rankings, collaborations, and future plans. The award was received at the FICCI’s 6th Higher Education Excellence Awards, 2019, held recently in New Delhi.
Vice Chancellor, UoH, Prof Appa Rao Podile said such awards strengthen the University’s resolve to better serve the nation as its leading public, multidisciplinary institution.
