In a recent talk with the media sources the Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Prof. Rash Bihari Prasad Singh has revealed that, the ‘Bihar Science Congress’ edition 2020 to be held in Patna University this year. This three-day program will commence from 26th to 28th March, 2020 on the theme ‘Recreating Interest in Fundamental Science.’
Briefing it further the Vice Chancellor said, “It is a matter of immense pleasure that the venue of ‘Bihar Science Congress 2020’ will be Patna University this year. We are very much prepared to host the event and we shall give our 100% to make it a huge success. The theme of the program is very inclusive and a galaxy of renowned scientists along with teachers from across the world are likely to attend the event. Some Nobel Laureates are also invited as the guest speakers who will put their opinion on the global challenges and their repercussions which can be tackled easily with the help of fundamental science. The main objective behind this Congress is to discuss the latest inventions and discoveries going across distinct branches of science, and to develop the ways to make younger generation interested in basic sciences.”
The collaborating partner of ‘Bihar Science Congress 2020’ will be an organization named ‘Bihar Brains’ which is devoted to the creation of scientific temperament among the state’s youth. “ISRO Chairman K. Sivan and the former director of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, General R. A. Mashelkar will deliver the plenary lectures” said the Chairman of Bihar Brains, Dr. Bibhuti Bikramaditya. Five participants will be awarded ‘Young Scientist Award’ and five delegates will get the ‘Best Paper Award’ in different categories. Two new awards have also been inducted this year, which includes Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award for scientific innovation and Dr. Yashpal Award for the popularization of science among Indian youths.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dolly Sinha, of Patna University said, “The Science Congress this year will also organise science exhibition and debates to inculcate a sense of interest among the very youth of our country.” Development officer P.K. Khan, Dean-Welfare N.K. Jha, B.N. College Principal Raj Kishore Prasad and Congress convener Birendra Prasad were also present on the occasion.
