The first day of the two-day Science Exhibition celebrating National Science Day, which is celebrated on 28th February, at Patna Women’s College organized by the Science Departments with the theme ‘Science for the People and the people for Science‘ the topics ranged from Sustainable Farming to cost effective environment friendly sanitary Napkins and the total number of models was 62.
492 encourage the students for their efforts the Departments of Botany, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application and Zoology participate enthusiastically.
Prof. Radha Kant Prasad, Principal, Patna Science college,P.U. was the chief Guest.The exhibition was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College, who encouraged the students for their efforts. Dr. Shahla Yasmin, Dean Faculty of Science, Patna Women’s College and Dr. Sister M. Stuti A.C., Incharge Science, Patna Women’s College.
The event commenced with a welcome song performed by the students of performing Arts. Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. welcomed the Chief Guest and addressed all. Dr. Shahla Yasmin took all down the memory lane by recalling the milestones achieved by Patna Women’s College in Science.
The Chief Guest enlightened the students by informing them about the achievements of the legendary scientist, Dr. C.V. Raman, for had been felicitated by the Nobel Prize in 1930, the Bharat Ratna in 1954, and the Lenin Award in 1958 as National Science Day is celebrated commemorating his discovery of the ‘Raman Effect” on 28th February 1928. Dr. Sister M. Stuti A.C., Incharge, Science, Patna Women’s College delivered the vote of thanks.
