Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna today inaugurated its M.Sc. in Cyber Security & Digital Forensics (Batch 2026–2028) with an Inaugural-cum-Orientation Programme, marking another significant milestone in the University's commitment to advancing interdisciplinary education in emerging technologies, cyber security, and digital justice.
The programme was inaugurated in the distinguished presence of Mr. Ranjit Kumar Mishra, IPS, Inspector General of Police, CID and In-charge IGP, Cyber Crime & Security Unit, Bihar Police, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the increasing sophistication of cyber threats and the urgent need for highly trained cyber security professionals, cyber crime investigators, and digital forensic experts to strengthen India's cyber resilience and law enforcement capabilities.
The event was further enriched by the presence of two eminent Guests of Honour, Mr. Abhinav Dixit, Scientist 'G' & Centre Head, C-DAC Patna, and Mr. Sumith Satheesan, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions, TP-Link India. Both dignitaries highlighted the growing demand for skilled professionals in cyber security and digital forensics across government, industry, and critical infrastructure sectors. They encouraged students to embrace interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and research to address emerging cyber challenges.

The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, CNLU, Patna, who underscored the University's vision of creating globally competent professionals capable of addressing complex cyber security challenges through a unique blend of technology, law, policy, and governance.
The M.Sc. in Cyber Security & Digital Forensics has been introduced under the Centre for Cyber Security & Digital Forensics (CSDFC), CNLU Patna with the objective of developing highly skilled professionals in cyber security, digital forensics, cyber crime investigation, incident response, threat intelligence, and cyber law & digital governance.
The programme combines academic excellence with practical exposure through industry collaborations, laboratory-based learning, expert mentoring, internships, research projects, and interactions with professionals from government agencies, law enforcement organizations, and the cyber security industry.
Speaking on the occasion, the University reiterated that cyber security has become one of the fastest-growing sectors globally, creating unprecedented opportunities for professionals in information security, cyber crime investigation, digital evidence analysis, critical infrastructure protection, and cyber policy. The programme has therefore been designed to prepare graduates for leadership roles across industry, government, law enforcement agencies, forensic laboratories, financial institutions, and research organizations.
The Orientation Programme also introduced the newly admitted students to the academic structure, curriculum, research opportunities, industry partnerships, and the University's vision of fostering innovation and excellence in cyber security education.
The University warmly welcomed the first batch of students to this pioneering programme and expressed confidence that they would emerge as competent professionals contributing to India's digital transformation, cyber resilience, and secure digital future.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment by CNLU to strengthen capacity building in cyber security, digital forensics, and cyber law through quality education, research, innovation, and strategic collaborations.
