In a significant move towards bridging the gap between legal education and technological advancements, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
This collaboration marks a major step forward in strengthening industry–academia engagement in critical and rapidly evolving domains such as Cyber Security, Cyber Crime Investigation, Digital Forensics, and Cyber Law. The partnership will also focus on emerging regulatory and governance frameworks including Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), GDPR, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework.
The MoU reflects a shared vision to build a robust techno-legal ecosystem by aligning academic learning with real-world industry requirements. It aims to equip students and professionals with the skills needed to address contemporary challenges in cybersecurity and digital governance.
Under this partnership, CNLU and STPI will work collaboratively to:
- Foster a strong industry–institute interface in Cyber Security, Cyber Crime Investigation, Cyber Law, and Digital Forensics
- Jointly conduct academic programs, training sessions, and capacity-building initiatives
- Promote research, innovation, and skill development aligned with emerging industry needs
- Support and incubate cybersecurity startups, with a special focus on Bihar and the Eastern & North-Eastern regions of India
- Provide internship and placement opportunities to students of CNLU’s flagship M.Sc. in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics program through startups incubated at STPI Patna
The MoU was formally signed by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of CNLU, Prof. Faizan Mustafa, and the Director of STPI Patna, Sanjay Kumar.
This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing institutional and regional capabilities in cybercrime investigation, digital evidence handling, and cybersecurity governance. More importantly, it is poised to nurture the next generation of techno-legal professionals who can operate at the intersection of law, policy, and technology.
With Bihar emerging as a growing hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, such partnerships signal a transformative shift towards building a future-ready workforce and strengthening India’s digital resilience.
