IIM Jammu hosts Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference


Indian Institute of Management Jammu hosted the  Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference on 29th Aug 2025 at Vivanta, Ahmedabad, bringing  together eminent policymakers, industry leaders, and academicians. The Roundtable  Conference was designed to strengthen academia–industry collaboration, enhance  workforce preparedness, and integrate practical insights into management education. The  Roundtable Conference was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, along with  other dignitaries from the industry. The event commenced with participant registration, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony, and an introductory video, setting the stage for  insightful discussions. 

Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, highlighted the Institute’s remarkable trajectory of  growth and its unwavering commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world  application through robust industry partnerships. He emphasized that such collaborations  are essential in shaping a dynamic and future-ready education system, capable of  producing graduates who are both intellectually grounded and industry-ready. He  mentioned India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047, as envisioned  by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, and highlighted the importance of  initiatives like Project YUVA, launched in collaboration with the Government of Jammu &  Kashmir, in fostering employment through entrepreneurship. He called upon all  stakeholders to align their personal and institutional goals with a broader vision of national  development.  

He reiterated IIM Jammu’s exceptional achievement of securing two prestigious  international accreditations, BGA Institutional Accreditation and EFMD Programme  Accreditation for its MBA programme within a single year. This remarkable  accomplishment places IIM Jammu among the top five IIMs in the country and makes it  the only second and third-generation IIM to attain both, signifying a major milestone in the  Institute’s emergence as a globally recognized hub of excellence in management  education. 

The Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference featured two engaging panel discussions  addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities in the evolving employment  landscape.  

The first panel of the Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference, moderated by Prof. P.P.  Maheshwari, Professor of Practice, IIM Jammu, explored the topic “ Learning Beyond  Books: Role of Industry to Make Education More Practical”, brought together eminent  industry leaders including Dr. Jaideep Chowdhary, Director, Product Marketing, eInfochips  ; Ms. Shilpa Sejpal, Dy. Manager HR, Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd; Ms. Mayuri  Srivastava, Deputy Vice President, Learning and Development, Tata AIG General  Insurance Company Limited; Mr. Chainsingh Rathore, Vice President - Talent Acquisition,  Gateway Group; Mr. Dhiraj V Advani, CHRO, KD Hospitals; and Mr. Ajeet Singh, Manager  - Corporate Banking, ICICI Bank (IIM Jammu Alumnus).The panel emphasized bridging  theory and practice through internships, live projects, research, and industry exposure,  preparing students to excel in today’s dynamic work environments.

The second panel of the Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference focused on “Shaping the  Leaders of Tomorrow: Industry Needs in Young Talent”, highlighting adaptability, problem solving, and leadership potential as the qualities that set young professionals apart  moderated by Dr. Apurva, Faculty, IIM Jammu. The session featured eminent leaders  including Mr. Rahul Punia, Senior Director, Protiviti Global; Mr. Arani Chatterjee, President  & CRO, Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd.; Ms. Neha Lal, Healthcare Management Leader,  Adani Healthcare Ventures; Dr. Sheetal Thomas., Research Head & Associate Professor,  Parul University (IIM Jammu Alumnus); Ms. Mrinalini Minal, Manager, CEO office, Adani  Airport (IIM Jammu Alumnus).The discussion underlined the industry’s call for young talent  who can innovate, adapt, and lead with confidence in an ever-changing business 

The conference culminated with the National Anthem and a networking lunch. The Roundtable conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry leaders,  corporate representatives, academicians, and students from IIM Jammu’s Industry  Interaction Cell and Placement Committee.  

The Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference further strengthened IIM Jammu’s mission to  align management education with the evolving needs of the economy and reinforced the  institute’s role as a bridge between academic learning and industry practice, paving the  way for actionable outcomes and partnerships that will benefit students, institutions, and  the corporate sector alike.
