IIM Jammu Inaugurates 20th Batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program under Malaviya Mission Teacher Training

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated the 20th Batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training (MMTT) on 13 July 2026 at the Vedanta MDP Centre, IIM Jammu. The five-day programme, scheduled from 13th to 17th July 2026, has been designed to strengthen leadership, academic excellence, and professional competencies among faculty members and academic leaders from higher educational institutions across the country.The training program consisted of 27 participants from different part of the country. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Program Director in presence of Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu. Dr. Vinod.C. Durge is also the program director for the 20th Batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program under Malaviya Mission Teacher Training
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. The participants were welcomed with a campus tour, providing them with an overview of IIM Jammu's world-class academic infrastructure and vibrant learning ecosystem.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Program Director, warmly welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives and structure of the programme. He emphasized that the Nurturing Future Leadership Program seeks to develop visionary academic leaders equipped with contemporary management perspectives, ethical leadership values, and innovative pedagogical approaches that can contribute meaningfully to the transformation of higher education in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu, highlighted the Institute's growing role in executive education and faculty capacity building. He elaborated on IIM Jammu's commitment to delivering impactful training programmes that foster institutional excellence, leadership development, and academic innovation in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The participants introduced themselves during an interactive session, setting the stage for collaborative learning and meaningful engagement over the course of the programme. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Muqbil Burhan, who expressed gratitude to the participants, faculty members, organizers, and all stakeholders for their support in making the programme a success. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem followed by a group photograph.
The Nurturing Future Leadership Program will feature expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, experiential learning activities, and leadership development modules aimed at empowering faculty members with contemporary knowledge, strategic thinking, and transformative leadership capabilities. Through this initiative under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training, IIM Jammu continues to reaffirm its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education by nurturing academic leaders capable of driving excellence, innovation, and institutional transformation across the country. The training program is being coordinated by IIM Jammu Executive Education and Consultancy.
