IIM Jammu Strengthens Jammu & Kashmir's MSME Ecosystem with the completion of a Transformative Capacity Building Programme on MSME Health Clinics

The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the three-day Capacity Building Programme on the Implementation of Jammu & Kashmir MSME Health Clinics, held from April 28 to April 30, 2026, at the Jagti Campus. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, with the objective of equipping officials and stakeholders with the requisite knowledge, tools, and strategic frameworks for the effective implementation of MSME Health Clinics across the Union Territory. The valedictory ceremony was presided by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu. Dr. Ateeque Sheikh, Chairperson Research, IIM Jammu, and Dr. Jaganth G, Programme Director also graced the valedictory ceremony. The training program consisted of 40 participants from across the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research and Programme Director, IIM Jammu, congratulated the participants and remarked that the programme marked the beginning of a larger journey towards strengthening the MSME ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir. He described the MSME Health Clinic initiative as a significant and collaborative endeavor, emphasizing the importance of co-creation, continuous engagement, and cross-cultural learning. He also shared that IIM Jammu has been approached with a similar initiative by the Government of Rajasthan, which will further facilitate the exchange of best practices.He expressed his gratitude to Shri Arun Manhas, JKAS, Director, Industries and Commerce, Govt of Jammu and Kashmir, for his leadership and steadfast support in making this collaboration successful. He reaffirmed IIM Jammu's commitment to providing continued academic and technical assistance in the implementation, diagnostic, and rehabilitation processes for MSMEs across Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson, Research, IIM Jammu, emphasized the transformative role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, fostering entrepreneurship, and generating employment. He remarked that whatever one does, it should make a meaningful difference in the lives of people. He encouraged the participants to aspire to create a positive impact, even if it begins with transforming just one MSME. He further underscored the importance of robust institutional mechanisms such as MSME Health Clinics in identifying challenges faced by enterprises and facilitating timely interventions, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the region.
Welcoming the participants during the valedictory session, Dr. Jaganth G, Programme Director, IIM Jammu, presented a comprehensive report of the programme, highlighting its key learning outcomes, engaging deliberations, and the enthusiastic participation of officials from diverse regions of Jammu & Kashmir. In his address, he emphasized that the knowledge, perspectives, and practical insights gained during the programme would significantly enhance the participants' professional capabilities and contribute meaningfully to their career growth. He expressed confidence that the journey ahead would be both impactful and rewarding, enabling them to play a pivotal role in strengthening the MSME ecosystem across the Union Territory.
Participants also shared their reflections, expressing deep appreciation for the programme's well-structured design, practical orientation, and insightful deliberations. They particularly lauded the systematic approach, the enriching learning environment, and the inspiring academic aura of IIM Jammu. The participants noted that the technical sessions were highly relevant and impactful and enthusiastically conveyed their eagerness to participate in similar programmes at IIM Jammu in the future. They acknowledged the programme's immense value in strengthening their understanding of the MSME ecosystem and its practical implementation across the region.
Certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their completion of the programme. The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jaganth G, Program Director, IIM Jammu who expressed gratitude to the IIM Jammu Leadership, Dean, faculty, research, Dept of Industries and Commerce, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, JKTPO, the faculty members, participants, and the organizing team for their invaluable contributions in making the programme a resounding success.
The event culminated with the National Anthem, marking the conclusion of yet another impactful capacity-building initiative by IIM Jammu in its continued pursuit of academic excellence, policy support, and regional development.
