IIM Ranchi Concludes Management Development Programme on Project Management and Execution Excellence for PUVNL and NTPC Executives

IIM Ranchi successfully concluded the five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Project Management and Execution Excellence for executives from Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PUVNL) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited. The valedictory session celebrated the successful completion of the programme, with participants and dignitaries reflecting on the key learnings, industry-academia collaboration, and the importance of continuous professional development. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi; Shri Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited; Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, CEO, PUVNL; Prof. Amit Sachan, Dean, Executive Education & Consultancy (EEC), IIM Ranchi; Shri Bishnudutta Dash, GM (Project-Construction), PVUNL; Shri Ziaur Rahman, AGM, PVUNL; and Programme Directors Prof. Nitin Singh and Prof. Manish Bansal, Chairperson, EEC, IIM Ranchi.
The valedictory session began with Prof. Sachan, IIM Ranchi, congratulating the participants on successfully completing the programme. He appreciated their active participation and acknowledged the valuable feedback received throughout the five-day programme. Highlighting the thoughtfully designed curriculum that blended conceptual understanding with practical applications, he encouraged the participants to implement the knowledge and insights gained during the programme in their respective professional roles.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Srivastava, expressed his gratitude to PUVNL and NTPC Limited for reposing their trust in the Institute. He observed that while today's world offers unprecedented access to data and information, professionals must exercise sound judgement, as information can often be accompanied by misinformation. Emphasising that effective management lies in using information intelligently, he encouraged participants to apply critical thinking in decision-making. He also highlighted IIM Ranchi's vibrant academic ecosystem, supported by a dynamic faculty, and invited participants to remain connected with the Institute while exploring its MBA (Executive) and Executive PhD programmes.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Shri Vepakomma, thanked IIM Ranchi for delivering an enriching and professionally relevant learning experience. He remarked that the programme had provided valuable insights that would help participants strengthen their project execution capabilities. Stressing the importance of continuously updating knowledge and skills, he appreciated the collaborative learning environment created by the faculty and programme team and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue in the future.
Shri Sehgal, commended IIM Ranchi for organising a highly impactful programme that successfully broadened participants' perspectives on project management and execution. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the learning resources, faculty, and overall academic environment. Highlighting the immense value of stronger collaboration between academia and industry, he noted that such programmes play a crucial role in enhancing professional competence and organisational effectiveness. Appreciating the interactive classroom discussions, participant presentations, innovative teaching methodologies, and case-based learning, he congratulated the participants on their dedication and thanked IIM Ranchi for its wholehearted efforts in making the programme a success.
The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants. Prof. Singh delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the faculty members, resource persons, participants, and the organising team for their invaluable contributions to the successful conduct of the programme. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the executives throughout the five-day programme and reaffirmed IIM Ranchi's commitment to delivering executive education programmes that effectively bridge academic excellence with industry requirements.
