IIM Ranchi Launches Pioneering Certificate Program for Grassroots Leadership Development and Local Governance

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi proudly inaugurated the first academic module of its groundbreaking certificate program dedicated to grassroots leadership development and local governance. The program, tailored for Tata Steel Foundation Development Corridor Fellows, commenced under the insightful guidance of Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, the esteemed Director of IIM Ranchi.

This comprehensive initiative spans four residential academic modules, each lasting 10 days. The curriculum encompasses a diverse range of courses, including local governance, community development, project management, leadership development, and personal development. These courses are designed to nurture participants into impactful grassroots leaders.

A total of 43 potential grassroots leaders are actively engaged in this program, which was established through a Memorandum of Understanding between IIM Ranchi and Tata Steel Foundation, solidifying their commitment to collaborate on various initiatives.

The program will feature courses conducted in Hindi by IIM professors, leveraging their domain expertise. Additionally, external experts from the administration and development sectors will serve as course instructors.

In today's sessions, Nitin Kulkarni, IAS, delved into local governance functioning, while Prof. Ambuj Anand and Prof. Jagan Sur led sessions on project management.

This initiative aligns with IIM Ranchi's overarching mission of being a globally oriented yet locally responsive institute. By bridging management education with grassroots leadership and governance, IIM Ranchi continues to make significant strides in its commitment to societal impact and development.
