Inter Pharmacy College Cricket Tournament Season 2 Kicks Off at Jagjivan Stadium, Patna


The Inter Pharmacy College Cricket Tournament – Season 2 began on a high note at Jagjivan Stadium, bringing together pharmacy colleges from across Bihar for three days of competitive cricket and campus camaraderie. The tournament is being held from February 23 to 25 and is jointly organised by MGM College of Pharmacy in collaboration with the IPA Education Division Bihar.

The sporting event was formally inaugurated by Shri Rajesh Kumar, Senior General Manager & State Corporate Affairs Head (Bihar) at Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, and Shri Manish Kumar, Founder of Ecowater. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Archana, Principal of MGM College of Pharmacy, R. L. Bandyopadhyay, President of IPA Bihar, along with faculty members, organisers, and invited dignitaries.

The tournament is being smoothly coordinated by Mr. Rupesh Kumar, Mr. Nitish Kr Yadav, Mr. Amarendra Kumar, Mr. Prince, Ms. Debankini Dasgupta, Ms. Shwetlana Bandyopadhyay, Ms. Rekha Singh, Mr. Desh Deepak, Ms. Aastha, Ms. Sweet Gupta, Mr. Sonu, supported by the enthusiastic student volunteers of MGM College of Pharmacy.

The opening day of the tournament featured three exciting matches with commanding performances by several teams. In the first match, Narayan Institute put up a massive total of 220/7 in 12 overs after Krishna Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences (KINPMS) won the toss and elected to bowl; KINPMS was later bowled out for 77, handing Narayan Institute a dominant 143-run victory. The second match saw Shakuni Chaudhary College register another emphatic win as they scored 206/5 in 12 overs after Pragya College of Pharmaceutical Sciences chose to bowl first, before restricting Pragya College to 73 all out and securing a 133-run win. In the third encounter, MIT Muzaffarpur delivered a clinical performance after Ram Sharan Roy College of Pharmacy opted to bat first, dismissing them for just 36 runs and comfortably chasing the target without losing a wicket to win by 10 wickets. Overall, the first day witnessed dominant batting displays, disciplined bowling attacks, and strong team performances, setting a highly competitive tone for the remainder of the tournament.

Looking ahead to Day 2 on February 24, MGM College of Pharmacy will face GPI Siwan, while Bihar College of Pharmacy will take on Nibha Pharmaceutical Sciences. An eliminator match is also scheduled, further intensifying the competition as teams vie for a spot in the semi-finals. The first day concluded with enthusiastic support from students, faculty members, and participating institutions, marking an energetic and successful start to Season 2 of the Inter Pharmacy College Cricket Tournament and celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and inter-college unity across Bihar’s pharmacy education ecosystem.
