National Testing Agency (NTA) Extends Registration Dates for UGC NET 2024 Exam


The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to extend the registration dates for the UGC NET 2024 exam. Eligible candidates now have until May 19, 2024, to complete their application forms on the official website. Initially set for May 15, 2024, this extension provides more time for interested individuals to apply.

The deadline for submitting examination fees via credit/debit card or Net Banking/UPI has also been pushed to May 20, 2024. Additionally, candidates can make corrections to their application details online from May 21 to May 23, 2024. The UGC NET exam is slated for June 18, 2024.

To rectify any errors in their submitted application forms, candidates can utilize the correction window available at https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

An official statement on the NTA website elaborates, "In continuation to the public notice dated April 20, 2024, regarding the submission of online application forms for UGC-NET June 2024, NTA has decided to extend the last date for submission." This extension aims to accommodate aspiring candidates seeking to apply for various academic pursuits.

The decision to extend the dates comes in response to numerous requests from candidates and aligns with NTA's commitment to facilitating a smooth application process for the UGC-NET June 2024 exam.

The UGC-NET exam holds significant importance as it determines eligibility for several academic opportunities, including the award of the Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as an assistant professor, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges. NTA will conduct the UGC-NET for 83 subjects in the OMR (Pen and Paper) mode.
