The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu concluded the 9th Batch of its prestigious Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) with a formal valedictory ceremony held at the Vedanta MDP Centre on 25th July 2025. The five-day program, conducted from 21st to 25th July 2025, is aimed at equipping emerging leaders with the skills, perspectives, and strategic insights necessary to excel in today’s dynamic business environment. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.

Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, in his valedictory address, shared valuable insights drawn from his vast academic and administrative experience. He reflected on the past few days of the program, appreciating the enthusiasm and engagement shown by the participants. He emphasized that true growth stems from a sense of purpose—whether one holds a position or simply desires to contribute meaningfully to their organization. Highlighting the importance of good policies and transparency in institutional governance, he underlined that these values form the foundation of trust and performance. He gave a brief glimpse into his professional journey, reiterating that teaching is a noble profession rooted in self-discipline and self-control. 

He shared anecdotes and memories that highlighted the joy of doing work one truly loves, stating, "You must enjoy what you do. When you enjoy your work, success follows naturally." He noted that the culture at IIM Jammu encourages not just academic excellence but also fulfilment and purpose in one’s role. He congratulated all participants for their active involvement and wished everyone a safe and happy journey back, encouraging them to apply their learnings in their respective institutions.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu, addressed the participants during the valedictory session, emphasizing that this event marks not an end, but the foundation of a new journey. Reflecting on the enriching five-day experience, he highlighted the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and visionary leadership in today’s dynamic global landscape. He urged the participants to carry forward the insights, values, and strategies gained during the program into their professional endeavors. Calling it a progressive and impactful journey, he noted that several practical takeaways from the sessions could be implemented in real-world settings, contributing to personal growth and institutional advancement.

The valedictory ceremony commenced with a brief welcome followed by a comprehensive Program Report presented by Dr. Atanu Bhuyan, Program Director, IIM Jammu. The report encapsulated the key highlights, learning outcomes, and participant engagement throughout the program. 

Participants shared heartfelt reflections on their enriching learning journey, with overwhelmingly positive and welcoming feedback. Many described it as their first exposure to such an immersive and structured learning environment. They appreciated the opportunity to engage with real-life case studies, delve into SWOT analysis, and gain practical insights into modern management systems. The interactive sessions with students and faculty, coupled with the vibrant academic atmosphere and world-class infrastructure at IIM Jammu, left a lasting impression. The program was lauded for its focus on leadership frameworks, peer learning, and actionable takeaways that participants expressed would significantly contribute to their professional growth.

The event also featured the certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the successful completion of the program by the participants. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, followed by the National Anthem, marking the ceremonial conclusion.
